A couple of months ago Jess wrote an open letter to Apple's board suggesting that Jonathan Ive be considered as a successor to Steve Jobs. The London Times just picked up on this meme in their article One step from the top, Essex boy who reached Apple's core.
Here's the graf the cites Jess:
Jess McMullin, a prominent Silicon Valley blogger, has gone as far as to write an open letter to Apple's board of directors, pointing out that it is their "fiduciary duty to develop a succession plan", and that Jonathan Ive should be at the top of their list.
A number of other people, quoted in the article, agree with Jess on this point--which means that the Ive-for-CEO movement might have some legs.
(And no, we're not in Silicon Valley. We're about 3,000 kms away in Edmonton.)
