I thought I'd post the slides from my Northern Voice InternetBootCamp talk Tagging 101. If you're new to tagging this is a good place to start (Common Craft also has a great video Social Bookmarking in Plain English).
This presentation includes some embedded video--mainly quick demos of how tagging systems work--which unfortunately don't appear in the slides. But you'll get the gist.
