Over on the Adaptive Path blog our friend (and CanUX alumni) Brandon Schauer has posted the six questions he uses to discover an organization's business strategy. It's a smart and simple method for probing an organization and its approach to strategy.
The six questions are:
- What's their generic strategy?
- How is the business different from it’s competition?
- How does the business make money?
- Is their market growing, shrinking, or flat?
- What do they invest in?
- What do they say?
It might not work for every client--like those in the public sector--but it's a great start for digging into a business.
If you like this sort of thing, another Adaptive Path team member, Henning Fischer, will be running a workshop at our Web Strategy Summit in May.
