Some Recent Work

by Gene Smith on August 31, 2010

It's been a busy year so far here at nForm. We've been lucky to work with some great clients on exciting projects, and we've just published short case studies on two of those projects. Have a look and let us know what you think.

Oil Sands Information Portal

OSIP map interface

The Alberta Government has a ton of environmental data related to oil sands development. With the resurgence of interest in the oil sands (and with some international groups criticizing the environmental impact of those developments), the government wanted a single interface where people could get all the facts about the oil sands.

We worked with Alberta Environment to conceive and design a map-based interface for accessing oil sands data. Our process involved user research, personas, wireframes, an interactive prototype and usability testing--all focused on creating one interface to display this multi-faceted data.

Alberta Teachers' Association

ATA News Issue #18

The ATA, one of the largest professional associations in Alberta, had outgrown its website. We helped them introduce a new information architecture, visual design and templates--all on top of their existing SharePoint 2007 infrastructure.
