Artifacts created to represent the state of affairs at a future point in time. Examples might include press releases, movie posters, newspaper articles, or product package designs.
Artifacts can be more effective in communicating future trends than text-heavy reports. Their concrete nature may provoke people to think about what they really believe, and about how technology interacts with social, economic, and cultural factors.
